Older Ladybug and Chat Noir design

So, Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir is my new love. I fell for it when it was all over tumblr, because I'm weak for cute stories, amazing characters and the pairing that is so shiptastic that it has four different dynamics.

So it didn't take long for me to start headcanoning and this is my headcanon for a future redesign of their costumes.

I read somewhere that their costumes and weapons would develop throughout the series, so I decided to follow down that path.

Ladybug now has two yoyos but she now also has irridescent ladybug wings (she can’t fly with them, but she can now slow her fall into a glide…they also glow and release her cleansing light). Her body suit is now solid black with a qipao inspired ladybug spotted dress on top (a bit of Marinette’s chinese heritage leaking into the costume) and reverse colour long boots. Her hair has also grown out a little and has longer ribbons (…I love long hair so this is just me leaking into the design).

Chat Noir now has a sleeveless catsuit and two belt tails. The two tails is inspired by the Nekomata myth from Japan (since the series has a lot of inspiration from Japanese mythology). Since Adrien is a fencer, I figured a sword would be a natural upgrade in weapon (he still has his staff…I forgot to colour it lol). It’s a katana because having a katana slung over his back looks cooler than a sabre strapped to his side!

And, yes, Marinette is still quite short and Adrien is still stupidly tall. It makes it even more wonderful that she can kick his ass.

This is very much a sketch but I knew I wouldn't be able to tidy this quickly so I decided to post it on tumblr and here before I lost interest.
