Okay, just discovered openCanvas.

Where has it been all my life! (or at least since I got my Wacom tablet two months ago).

i've been finding these really really amazing works done in open canvas for a while... but never got around to trying it out myself ^^; the price in japanese yen throws me off a little - i can't believe it could be that cheap o_O
anyway, i'm looking forward to your next piece of art, hopefully done in open canvas =)

Heh, just finished a Seishirou/Subaru piece in openCanvas (Tsubasa style) and I did do a Child Kurogane (but he's only up on my photobucket account and at the capturedwings forum!

OpenCanvas is really designed for use with tablets, and it is WONDERFUL for sketching with my Wacom tablet and for tracing line art.

yup, just saw it, it looks great =)
hmm, is openCanvas really much superior to photoshop as far as sketching and tracing goes? and is it really only $50, or was i converting totally incorrectly?

I *cough* downloaded a copy but you can download a trial version if you want to see what it's like. And it WAS freeware/shareware at some point in time which is why it is cheap. There is an english language site somewhere where you can download it from.

The lines are a lot smoother in openCanvas (at least with a tablet, haven't tried with a mouse). When I tried tracing in photoshop the lines were choppy when you zoomed in, but in openCanvas they are smooth all the way. I'm sure theres some reason for it (vectorised images or something technical like that!) but I haven't really looked into it too much-I'm just enjoying the rewards!
