I wanted to do an NT picture to get me back into drawing CLAMP (in practice for the 20th Anniversary Fanbook) so I was going to draw an NT Sakura.
But I ended up rereading the bit about Meilin's dress in the Halloween Chapter and couldn't resist drawing her in a masqerade dress! (I don't think this quite matches what Wish-chan described, but it's the image that came to mind)
This is a traditional piece-drawn in pencil then inked. I brought lovely inking pens over Easter and am very happy with this first attempt with them! Much nicer than the last set I brought!
Excuse the feathers. I've never tried drawing feathers before.
I am going to try and colour this, too. Don't be surprised if I fail!
Interesting. I have no recollection what her dress was supposed to look like, but this is pretty good! I like the eyes. And the dress too, especially the train of the dress.
Beautiful~ I've been missing Meilin a bit lately. I would love love to see a colored version. Meilin looks a bit sad, nee? Bad, bad Kai (jumping on the Miho-bandwagon and just blame everything one him.) Lol...
Random but you have such a pretty signature. And I'm very jealous you have new inking pens! I always use any old pen lying around that hasn't dried up. >.<
I'm working on the coloured version. I've finished all the base colour and shaded her skin last night. It's getting there (slowly!).
I don't think things are quite going her way, so she's a bit more pensive than most pretty girls are at a party. And, yes, it's Kai's fault! I'll blame him, too!
Ah, my signature has been warped from years of signing paperwork (the real name half of it, not the pen name bit, obviously!). But sometimes I forget to sign my work...opps.
I brought new artstuff for the 20th Anniversary CLAMP Artbook that's being put together on LJ. But I haven't started my picture, yet...eek. Number one reason why I need to finish colouring this sooner rather than later!

I'm gonna try and make the bodice sparkle when I colour it (which is not going well...it'll take a while!) to represent the sequins.
